How do you tell if an ET server is using the antilag feature?

In etpro, only the clients b_antilag setting matters. On etmain pb_cvarval g_antilag

Ok then, for ETPro, the antilag feature is clientside. There is also another feature called Optimized Prediction. Is this clientside too? What is the difference between the two?

Do these two work together? If one is used, would the other cause problems?

I ask this because of all this timenudge debate over on the et forum.

Seems TN would negatively affect these two menu options in ETPro if you were using them. I don't use tn, mines at 0, but I do use the menu ones.

If you use TN, should those 2 options be disabled in the menu?

Both are set on the client, but that doesn't mean the actual work is done on the client. Antilag is still done on the server, clients just get to choose for themselves whether their own shots are unlagged. Optimize prediction is on the client.

They are completely unrelated.

In etpro, it does affect antilag, by adjusting how much you would have to lead or follow a target (within the limit of historical positions avialable on the server). It also has another unrelated effect on your clients view of time.

Optimize prediction should have very little noticable effect on anything but your FPS. It basically just caches the results from previous predictions and re-uses them if there is no new information, rather than re-predicting a whole buch of the same stuff over and over. Note that it is the prediction of your own players position that it optimized, so it should have no affect whatsoever on your view of other people, or ability to hit them.
